  • Press Release #30 – AKO President Appointed to OFC Position February 1st, 2012 To All Sports Directors and Reporters, The Windsor AKO Fratmen in conjunction with the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) are proud to announce that AKO President Darren Cocchetto has been appointed to: Vice-President of Operations for the OFC With this appointment, Darren Cocchetto will remain on as President of the AKO Fraternity, but will have to relinquish the General Managers duties. The AKO Fraternity is now actively looking for a new GM and also new members for the Fraternity.

    October 9th, 2011 To All Sports Directors and Reporters, Windsor AKO Fratmen Football ask for your attendance on Tuesday October 11th at 10:00 am at the AKO Frat House on Alice Street for Head Coach Mike LaChance's weekly press conference. Head Coach LaChance will be reviewing AKO's games with the London Beefeaters, and previewing AKO's 1st place showdown with the undefeated Hamilton Hurricanes on Saturday October 15th at 1pm at Alumni Field. The 'Stars of the Game' AKO Players of the Game will be announced for both games. All honored players will be in attendance for any interview requests. If there is a certain player you would like to be made available on Tuesday morning, please inform me no later than 5pm on Monday. In addition to the regular press conference agenda, members of the 1952 National Title AKO Team will be in attendance. AKO will be honoring these members at half-time of the game on Saturday. Your attendance is encouraged and appreciated for this event.

  • Press Release #13 – AKO Announces Live Webcasting Saturday vs. Twin Cities Predators September 22nd, 2011 To All Sports Directors and Reporters, The AKO Fraternity is proud to announce that Saturday's game versus the Twin Cities Predators at 7:30 pm at Alumni Field will be live-streamed on the internet thru a webcast. AKO is the 1st team in the history of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) to do live streaming of their games.   • Press Release #12 – OFC Players of the Week September 20th, 2011 To All Sports Directors and Reporters, The Windsor AKO Fratmen along with the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) are proud to announce that: AKO RB Beau Lumley has been named OFC Special Teams Player of the Week On Sunday evening in Burlington, Beau had 3 punt returns for 90 yards including a 65 yard return. He also had 1 kick-off return for 14 yards, 15 rushes for 98 yards and 1 TD, and 1 reception for 9 yards. Beau amassed 211 total all-purpose yards while lining up in 5 different positions during the course of the game (RB, QB, WR, PR, KR). Beau is the first player in the OFC this season to win Player of the Week honors twice, as he won last week's Offensive Player of the Week award for both the OFC and CJFL, with 325 total yards. OFC Players of the Week: Offense: QB Matt Francis, Hamilton Hurricanes, 21-30 for 305 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, in 27-10 win over Ottawa Defense: DB Chris Vanmeppelenscheppink, London Beafeaters, 4 solo tackles, 1 assist, 1 pass knock down, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 17 total defensive points, in 19-12 win over Twin Cities Special Teams: RB Beau Lumley, AKO Fratmen, 4 returns for 104 yards, 98 yards rushing with 1 TD, 9 yards receiving, 211 total all-purpose yards, in 28-14 win over Burlington.   • Press Release #10 – Windsor vs. London game dates changed September 13th, 2011 To All Sports Directors and Reporters, The Windsor AKO Fratmen would like to announce the following changes to their schedule: The game originally scheduled for Friday October 7th vs. London, has been changed to Tuesday October 4th at 8pm at City Field in London. The game that was suspended on September 3rd will now be restarted on Saturday October 8th at 1pm at Windsor Stadium.
