award sponsered by former AKO Star and two time CFL GreyCup Champion Walter Spencer. These players take leadership roles among their teammates if offseason activities and during the football season. They lead by example and are "Captains" on and off of the field of play.

AL NEWMAN - ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR
award named after legendary AKO Coach Al Newman. It is awarded to the AKO assistant Coach that is able to raise the level of his postional groups play. This Coach shows a great ability to get the most out of his players and is respected throughout the locker room.
